ANALYSIS OF THE FINANCE ACT 2022
The Finance Act 2022 was passed by the Tanzania National Assembly on 30th June 2022 and assented by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania on 1st July 2022. The Act amended 37 legislations, after the Act has been passed and assented by the President, LHRC as a human right organization made a critical analysis of the Act in which out of 37 amended legislations, LHRC analyzed 20 legislations which were substantively amended. The intention of the analysis is to inform the public and out stakeholders in general on the major key issues which has been incorporated in the Act by considering that the Finance Act is a one year legislation which started operating on 1st July 2022 and shall come to an end on 30th June 2023.
